Barn Spider
I found this barn spider in September, 2004 in my yard. We have many. They start to become more noticeable in late summer and fall. They spin a web at sunset and cut it down the next day. They can look fat and scary, but are harmless. They eat harmful insect pests. This photo is a bit too bright. I'll have a better one later.
