Compound Eye of Giant Hornet

I found a Giant Hornet, also known as a European Hornet (Vespa crabro germana) and put it under a modified microscope.  I thought the hexagonal cells on the eye surface looked cool.  This hornet also has an enormous stinger.  I have heard people call these Japanese Hornets.  They live in large nests, but are not as aggressive as other hornets.  They do fly around at night.
