Grass Spiders
I took these grass spider photos at my house. These are the very comon spiders that spin a web that goes into a hole or crack, like a funnel. These spiders are generally harmless, although some can get very large and mean looking. Note that the fangs are visible on the spider at bottom right (eating the ant). I took the large photo on 12 October 2001 and the bottom photos in June 2001. The photos have been converted to jpg format to conserve webspace. This causes the background in the large pic to look blocky.
